Disentomb brutal band from Australia, was formed in early 2009 and quickly afterwards built local, national and international hype. And recently they are performed in Hammersonic fest in Jakarta, Indonesia. Here is my interview with Disentomb (Henri Sison) from
Q : Hello there ! how are
you guys ? thanks for letting me to do interview with you guys
A : Thank you for this interview.
Q : first tell me the band
history, like when you start and who are the members ?
A : Disentomb formed in 2009 with
Jordan (vocals), Jake (guitar), Tom (bass) and myself on drums. Jordan, Jake
and I were previously in a tech death metal band together called Cadaverine but
decided we wanted to take our music in a different direction. In 2013 we recruited Jim (Entrails
Eradicated) to replace Tom on bass.
Q : What is your major influence ?
A : My major influences are Disgorge,
Defeated Sanity, Liturgy and Brodequin. All three bands have a different take
on Brutal Death Metal but all are heavy in their own way. My drumming was first
influenced by drummers in large death metal bands such as Derek Roddy (Nile/
Hate Eternal) and George Kollias (Nile ).
Recently I have been influenced by more underground drummers like Ricky Myres
(Disgorge/ Sarcolytic) and Jon Engman (Brodequin/ Liturgy) and Davide Billia
(Putridity/ Septical Gorge).
Q : recently you just came
to Indonesia and performing
in Hammershonic. So how’s the hammersonic ?
A : Hammersonic was an incredible
experience and was the largest show we’ve played to date. We played alongside
Morbid Angel, Origin and Jasad which are some of our favourite bands. We got a
great response from our Indonesian fans who went fucking crazy in the moshpit.
Q : is this the first time
you perform in Indonesia ?
and how you feeling about Indonesia
?
A : Hammersonic was our first time in
Indonesia but it definitely
won’t be our last. We have received so much support from our friends and fans
in Indonesia and want to
come back as often as possible. With bands like Jasad, Death Vomit, Rezume,
Injury Deepen, Lumpur and Asphyxiate I believe Indonesia
has one of the strongest death metal scenes in the world.
Q : how many country
you’ve been visit to perform ? and what country is the most epic for you ?
A : Hammersonic was only our second
international show. In 2011 we played Switzerland ’s
Mountains of Death festival alongside Gorgasm, Defeated Sanity, To Violently
Vomit and Decapitated. This was followed by a UK
tour with Cerebral Bore.
Q : how’s the underground
scene in Australia ? and
maybe you can share with us some great band from there ?
A : The underground scene in Australia has started to grow in the last few
years and is gaining momentum. A number of brutal acts have emerged from all
parts of Australia and you
should definitely check out Seminal Embalmment, Iconic Vivisect, The Seaford
Monster, Internal Devour, Gouge, Expulsed.
Q : what is your next
planning for the band ?
A : We are releasing our second full length Misery in the next few months through New Standard Elite. We plan to tour off the back of Misery and hope to return to Indonesia .
